What can you do with the Primary Progress Toolkit?

1. Enter ASSESSMENTS, termly, half-termly, or yearly, for core and foundation subjects [more]

  • Assessments can be entered directly in the toolkit or via simple data capture sheets for class teachers to complete, which are then imported into the toolkit ppt

2. Track pupils' progress against STANDARD PROGRESS, from Nursery to KS2 [more]

  • We show termly, half-termly or yearly attainment and progress, in both core and foundation subjects, colour coded against Standard Progress.
  • Standard Progress - at KS2 this is two levels or 12 points; from Reception to KS1 we convert FSP points, P scales and NC levels all to NC points and measure progress in NC points. If you would like to download a fuller explanation, click here.

3. Set targets, termly or yearly, in all core and foundation subjects [more]

  • The toolkit can set termly or yearly Targets for all pupils automatically, based on prior performance or Fischer KS2 estimates, which can then be fine tuned for individual pupils

4. Track pupils' progress against the targets which you have set [more]

  • We show KS2 results colour coded against targets, Fischer estimates and two levels of progress
  • We show termly or yearly attainment and progress, in both core and foundation subjects, colour coded against targets
  • Progress against targets can also be shown using TRACKER GRIDS (see below)

5. Display results in colour-coded TRACKER GRIDS [more]

  • We use three types of tracker grids:
  • ISP style grids show whether pupils are on track to achieve levels 4 or 5 at KS2
  • Target tracker grids show whether pupils are meeting their targets
  • Subject progress tracker grids show how much progress pupils are making

6. Analyse pupils' attainment and progress by year group, class, or set and FILTER by groups [more]

  • The standard groups are gender, FSM, SEN, ethnicity, birthdate, time at school, attendance/absence. Schools can also set up to six additional groups according to their needs e.g. Gifted & talented, literacy intervention, parents involvement etc.

  • We provide both graphical displays and full tabular analysis

  • The toolkit provides lots of calculation support which saves you time. Here are two examples of the calculations which are available at the click of a button:
  • Calculate the number and percentage of pupils with particular characteristics
  • Calculate the number and percentage of pupils at each level and their average points scores, for any NC subject

9. Analyse your school's performance against national summary results and other local schools [more]

  • There are analyses similar to those on RAISEonline but schools like to have all their key performance data in one place and we try to make the data easy to understand
  • Schools can also choose up to 40 schools, local or national, with whom to compare themselves, using the league tables data
