Twelve ways in which the Primary Progress Toolkit can support school management

2. Track class progress v National standards

This worksheet shows you:

1 At the top, a calculation of the class’s Average Points Scores in Reading, Writing, Maths and the overall APS.
2 Test results (levels) for KS1, optional SATs for Years 3, 4, 5 and KS2.
3 Teacher assessments for the same.
4

The Standard Progress measure. This is based on the national targets for expected performance at KS1 (Level 2) and KS2 (Level 4) – ie 12 points over four years, an average of three points per year. Schools can also set their own measure for progress.

The Standard Progress measure converted to Expected Levels, calculated individually for each class/year group from their Average Points Score at KS1.
Colour coding, which shows whether the class/year group is on, under or above the Expected level and whether the class/year group’s KS2 results are on, under or above their targets.
